The infamous BESTIAL legion was conjured in 1994 with the purpose of spreading pure chaos with its symphonies full of brutality that echoes permanently in the deep caverns of hell, where the decimation of the celestial sentinels remains active to this day. Over time, several recordings have been desecrated and that can help us understand a little better what we can find in the discography that BESTIAL present to us in an obscure way, where we are absorbed by the obscure brutality in its extreme and morbid symphonies. The perverted ideals of the BESTIAL legion continue, faithful to its origins and for those who still do not know them or who have simply been distracted in the last thirty years, we will stay with the interview conducted by Danihell Slaughter with his brother Cesar China, one of the founding demons of BESTIAL and that we present to you now here in the unhealthy Cadaveric Noiseletter.
C.N. - HELL-o brothers of the infernal abysses where the BESTIAL legion has remained for 30 years propagating its infamous symphonies, raising the blasphemous flag of death with the purpose of profaning divine morality while crushing its celestial sentinels and burning its false doctrines. To begin this interview I would like to ask how did this conjurative hour called BESTIAL arise?
C.C. - Infernal greetings brother from the deep abysses of the underworld Danihell Slaughter! Bestial was formed in 1994 and has always had the purpose of spreading all fury and blasphemy against divine dogmas in order to crush false doctrines and spread chaos, always supported by an extreme, dark and profane sound. And so we remain until today!
C.N. - Over time, the BESTIAL legion has had some changes in its line-up, however currently the horde has a consistent line-up and with the return of China, one of the founding members of this infamous horde, can you present the band's current line-up?
C.C. - In all these years of activity, several warriors have passed through Bestial, and all former members contributed to the band's continuity. In March 2024, there were more changes in the line-up that made the band more cohesive, brutal and extremely intense in the execution of its music. Bestial today continues to spread its sonic disgrace in a more solid and intense way through the infamous Chukill (Guitar/Vocals), V. Alex (Lead Guitar), Jeferson Pereira (Drums) and C.China (Bass), who returned to the band after more than two decades.
C.N. - In 1998 the band released their debut work entitled "...in Perpetual Tempest Occult" in the format of a split cassette with the Brazilian band Atropina and which would be released by the Portuguese label Hallucination Zine. Can you tell us a little more about this split?
C.C. - The Demo Tape "...In Perpetual Tempest Occult" had 4 tracks, including the band's first composition "Obscurity Emanations" and served not only to introduce the band to the scene but also to establish Bestial's name in the underground. This DT was also released in the split cassette format by the Portuguese label Hallucination Records which ended up generating good contacts in the underground for Bestial.
C.N. - In 2004, BESTIAL returned to the studio to independently record a demo entitled "Demo'04" and their debut album "Final Pressage", which would be released by Mutilation Records in Brazil in CD format. The demo has three songs that are on your debut album. What can you tell us about these two works?
C.C. - The "Demo '04" served to promote the band more widely, which ended up forming a partnership with Mutilation Records for the release of their debut album "Final Pressage". The three tracks from the demo ended up being re-recorded and are present on the debut album, which was recorded and produced in the same studio where the demo was recorded with the same producer.
With the release of the album, it was possible to achieve better distribution and promotion of Bestial, in addition to allowing the band to perform several shows throughout the country.
C.N. - A year later, in 2005, the band returned to the studio to record their second album, entitled "Phalanx of Genocide", which would also be released by Muilation Records in CD format. The band's sound, despite remaining faithful to its origins, can be seen in the composition of the anthems on this album, becoming more raw but also faster and wilder. What can you tell us about this album?
C.C. - The album "Phalanx of Genocide", as well as the band's other releases, shows signs of evolution in both sound and composition, without affecting the personality and characteristic sound of the band, which has always sought to improve the brutality of its sound.
The second album, with its more raw and direct sound, served to establish the name Bestial on the national scene.
C.N. - At the end of 2015, the band returned to the studio, this time to record the EP that would be titled "Hellfuckdominium XXI" and that would also be released by Mutilation Records in Brazil in Digipack CD format. After 9 years, we are now in 2024 and this EP will now be released in Europe in a special edition on Cassette by Murder Records. How did this alliance come about and what can you tell us about this work that reveals a continuity in the unhealthy progress in the band's sound?
C.C. - The EP "Hellfuckdominium XXI" achieved a very positive result for the band, both in terms of composition and sound, demonstrating all the evolution and maturity in Bestial's sound over all these years.
The re-release of the EP in Cassette format came with the proposal from Murder Records, promptly accepted and confirmed by the band, for the release of Bestial's third album in 2025 in CD and Cassette format. It is worth mentioning that the EP's re-release has the support of two other labels: Auditive Cut Records (Brazil) and Subterrâneo Maldito Records (Portugal). As for the contact and unholy alliance with Murder Records, it has existed since 2019 and is getting stronger every day. I have had the pleasure of working with and counting on the label's full support in the launch of several individual projects, and since then our brotherhood has only grown stronger! We can say that it will be a huge honor for Bestial to work with a label that is ardently and faithfully dedicated to the most extreme and brutal underground!
C.N. - Murder Records recently released your video clip entitled "Warm And Swollen Raw Leather" and it turned out pretty sick, what do you have to say about this video?
C.C. - The video clip for the track "Warm And Swollen Raw Leather" is an excellent work done by the sick minds of the infamous Leo Mora and Danihell Slaughter who managed to capture the entire atmosphere of madness, lust, blasphemy and profanity of Bestial's sound in black and white images of classic, damned satanic films from the 70's. As lovers of old, damned and obscure films we were extremely pleased because they managed to masterfully capture in images the entire essence of Bestial's sound. An excellent record to torment the ears and burn the retinas of the weak.
C.N. - What can we expect for the future of BESTIAL? I know that the Bestial legion is preparing new profane anthems for their third album, which will be released by Murder Records. What can you tell us about that?
C.C. - We are working hard on the tracks for the third album, and we are already playing some live tracks at our shows, and the reception has been brutal and sick! We can say that it will be an intense work that will follow the line of the previous EP. A direct album that will reflect all the sonic power of the current line-up and that will certainly do justice to the band's entire trajectory to date!
C.N. - How do you evaluate the work done by Murder Records to promote, release and distribute your work? Are you happy with the work done and do you feel good about being part of the Murder Records roster? How has this experience been for you? Would you like to talk a little more about it?
C.C. - Excellent! A job done with mastery and total dedication to the underground! It is indescribable to describe all the attention, effort and intense support that Murder Records has been giving to Bestial since the first moment this unholy alliance was declared! Both parties, band and label, are working together hard, whether on the re-release of the EP or on the work that will result in the next album to be released next year! SUPPORT THE TRUE FUCKING CADAVERIC UNDERGROUND!
C.N. - Your sound fits into the Death Metal genre, where Black Metal and Thrash are also very prominent. How would you define your sound? Do you think that your musical influences are reflected in your sound in some way? If so, what are your main influences?
C.C. - Since the beginning, Bestial's proposal has always been to develop its own sound in the Death/Black style, always incorporating influences that convey dirt, brutality, aggressiveness, transgression, blasphemy, regardless of the style, be it Thrash/Death/Black/Grind/Noise/Punk, etc. The combination of all these sordid elements is what fuels Bestial! We always seek influences in the most diverse languages, ranging from literature and cursed cinema to all types of transgressive and infamous art.
C.N. - Regarding the message you intend to convey with your lyrics, what are the subjects you address and what is the reason that makes you approach these subjects in a direct and explicit way?
C.C. - Our lyrics are based on the deepest insane thoughts that torment our sick minds and always revolve around chaos, hatred, revenge, blasphemy, death and everything that contributes to the decadence and decline of humanity and everything else that surrounds us and feeds our bestial fury.
C.N. - BESTIAL has been very active playing live lately. Your shows are very intense and devastating. Do you think it is important to play live so that the band becomes more cohesive and consistent on a musical level? For those who intend to be run over by your appearance on stage, what can they expect?
C.C. - With the consolidated line-up, we are having the opportunity to present Bestial's sound live at several underground events. And the response from the public has been brutal. We consider these live performances to be extremely important for our rapport and musical improvement. Those who have not yet had the opportunity to see Bestial live can always expect maximum chaos and sonic destruction performed with extreme fury and brutality.
C.N. - Before finishing this interview I would like to ask you what are your goals as a band for the future?
C.C. - To continue recording our material and spreading brutality and chaos through our work and our live sonic torment, both in our country and abroad, always carrying the flag of brutality and blasphemy!
