THE EDGE OF EXTREME
34 years doing what they always did, pushing their creation forward, with the precision of a scalpel, in the most raw, brutal, and sharp form they know.
Yes, GROG are back once again to deliver us what they do best, one more chapter of extremeness, a lesson about how to renovate but at the same time to maintain their identity.
"Sphere of Atrocities" is their most recent deadly opus, an album that will make you bleed for speed, push you to the corner, and beat you relentlessly. Their new songs are equal to if violence wore a tuxedo, meaning that although their sound invites you to a modern and comfortable approach in fact once you enter the core of it you get smothered and crushed in a second by their vicious brutality. Almost inevitable to say that experience has a lot to do with this outcome and, as veterans in the metal scene, this ability to refine themselves brings them the possibility to explore new textures and dimensions. There's a lot of space for novelty here, and you simply have to know how to do it without repeating yourself.
With the same line-up for the past 20 years, expect nothing but great skilled master percussion, bass lines that will melt your face, a wall of exorcizing guitar riffs and a voice directly coming from down under. Overall, their musicianship is almost flawless and, with a super tight production, "Sphere of Atrocities" impact and intensity will surely be noticed within all worldwide death metal and grindcore fanatics.
Keeping their lyrical concept based on the dark side of humanity, they also add the alchemy that flows within our untold biology and mysterious existence. Concerning the final art of this album, all these concepts are amazingly represented and designed, once again, by the hands and mind of the one and only Crafter, Victor Costa.
As far as we're concerned, GROG still are one of the greatest names in the underground putting their musical effort in the top of the highest mountain and continuing to be a fearless and ruthless monster avalanche for your senses. So, above all, we dare to say that "Sphere of Atrocities" elevates GROG's legacy to a new level of severe musical brilliance.
