US/Georgia’s Death Metal titans, FATHER BEFOULED are back with a new EP that will ooze of unyielding, dark, and brutal Death Metal!
This release pushes the boundaries of their signature sound, blending relentless riffs, crushing rhythms, and an atmosphere of pure malevolence.Formed in 2006, FATHER BEFOULED play unholy and desolate death metal.
After some demo tracks online garnered interest, in 2008 the band released the Ep "Profano ad Regnum" and the band began playing regional shows in the US. A full length, "Obscurus Nex Cultus" quickly followed and after more shows and a couple of split releases, the band signed to Relapse Records for the release of "Morbid Destitution of Covenant" in 2010.
The band laid low for a couple of years before playing the inaugural Martyrdoom Festival in New York in 2012, which coincided with the release of their third full length, "Revulsion of Seraphic Grace" on Dark Descent Records. 2015 saw the release of "Enthroning Desolation" (a compilation of demo, split, live, and rare tracks) and a short tour of the East Coast. In 2017 the band headlined the Blood of the Wolf Festival in Lexington, Kentucky, as well as a performance at Maryland Deathfest to celebrate the release of their fourth album "Desolate Gods." The band embarked on their first European tours in 2019 and 2022, both to promote their most recent releases, the "Holy Rotten Blood" EP and the following full album “Crowned in Veneficum”, their first release through Everlasting Spew Records. 2024 will bring them on this side of the Atlantic again, this time aurally raping European countries with label mates Fossilization and promoting their latest effort "Immaculate Pain".

Pneuma Hagion was formed by R. in January of 2015 with the intent to create suffocatingly heavy death metal and the early demos featured muddy, claustrophobic death metal with eerie, unconventional vocals. Over the next few years, the inspiration driving the band changed, a new sound was being conceived and with S. joining on drums, Pneuma Hagion began to focus on creating music inspired primarily by mid-era Morbid Angel, specifically the album "Gateways to Annihilation". The band wanted to reproduce the terrifying Lovecraftian atmosphere of that album while creating the heaviest, most down-tuned death metal dirges possible. The band released their first full length album "Voidgazer" in 2020, followed by their sophomore effort "Demiurge" in 2022, now in 2024, Pneuma Hagion has joined forces with Everlasting Spew Records to unleash their third album "From Beyond", featuring their heaviest, most massive songs yet.

By now, DECEASED need no introduction. One of the longest-running American death metal bands, since 1985, DECEASED have been there for it all: death metal's genesis, its creative peak, its commercial peak and subsequent sink into trendiness, the eventual fallout and "un-trendiness," its rebirth at the hands of a new generation, and on and on. There they have stood, simply and 100% always DECEASED, not caring what year it is or what is hip - simply, always, DEATH METAL FROM THE GRAVE!
And across their sizable-yet-succinct discography, at their heart, DECEASED have always been a great HEAVY METAL band.
They proved it with 1997's landmark Fearless Undead Machines and continued to prove it with every album thereafter, with 2018's Ghostly White showing that even this MANY years on, their pistons are pumping harder and more creatively than ever.
During those past three decades, DECEASED have not been without ambition. Even when stretching the limits of complexity like on 1995's The Blueprints for Madness, true-to-death storytelling has always been at the fore of their work, vividly illustrated by the characteristic throat of founder / former drummer King Fowley. And although Fearless Undead Machines was perhaps the apex of that storytelling, never before have DECEASED attempted such an emotional, topically rooted-in-death album...until now!
Enter Children of the Morgue, DECEASED's darkest record to date. The album's concept is on dying and all that it entails, and suitably do the band integrate nearly every element of their past and present arsenal into its 55-minute runtime. "There will be fast parts, slow parts, melodic parts, noisy parts, and everything in between," Fowley claimed pre-release, and he's not wrong! But how DECEASED manage to thread everything together so seamlessly speaks to the strength of their songwriting - always recognizable, but never resting on past laurels. Here on Children of the Morgue, moody-yet-melodic riffing and lead-work take center stage as Fowley narrates this epic-length tale of life and death. The album's exceptional pacing and engaging, always-going-forward song constructions heighten the sensation that the record is a lot shorter than it actually is; however, if one was to do some quick math, he'd surmise at least half these tracks are indeed EPIC - at or above the eight-minute mark. Nevertheless, the sum effect is mesmerizing and even majestic, unremittingly DARK as the subject matter may be. The final icing on the cake (or slamming of the morgue's doors?) is the warm & rustic recording courtesy of Oblivion Studios, where the aforementioned Fearless Undead Machines and co-classic Supernatural Addiction were rendered onto tape.
Nearly 40 years since their formation, DECEASED show no signs of stopping - and, in fact, are arguably more potent than ever. You can now add Children of the Morgue to their list of undeniable classics...but this is not the end!

Hailing from Portugal, PHENOCRYST was formed in early 2020, during the recording of their debut EP. The band is based in the outskirts of Lisbon, and the origin of such conjuration is a rigorous consequence of a vibrant underground activity in the city.
The band wanted to create the foundation of a death metal act crossing other influences like doom and some psychedelic vibes, to illustrate soundscapes of disastrous, catastrophic, and annihilating volcanic and natural events. There are not many artists actually singing about this specific topic, if any, and therefore, the lyrical content is also something to explore. As such, the moniker PHENOCRYST is fitting.
That debut EP, aptly titled Explosions, was released by BLOOD HARVEST in late 2021 to international acclaim. Across its 23-minute runtime, PHENOCRYST unsettled with preternatural ease, reeking of death stench and obscure delirium. It was a noble foundation, to be sure, and one that allowed for further liberation of the rich language of death metal.
Speaking more confidently and boldly than ever and armed with a reconfigured lineup, PHENOCRYST at last deliver their debut album in Cremation Pyre. Another aptly titled record, Cremation Pyre indeed sonically approximates its namesake: somber yet furious, coiling with both inexorable dread and steely-eyed austerity, portentous and spacious in equal measure, and of course MOLTEN. Upon first blush, PHENOCRYST's debut full-length is perhaps purer death metal than its short-length predecessor; riffs are hulking and heaving, with a clearer production imparting a gleaming tank-like sound not unlike mid '90s Bolt Thrower. But even within this seemingly more "standard" carapace, odd & adroit sensations get malformed into miasmic shapes, and what seems like a no-less-awesome iteration of gleaming meat & potatoes DEATH METAL soon starts sliding and slipstreaming into a vortex of cosmic ash as the second half of the album begins to dig in its supernatural claws and frightening spaciousness opens up. And that's to say nothing of the subtly reverberating-into-the-abyss bits of melody dotting this sooty landscape...
Forward-thinking traditionalism? Perhaps, but the real beauty of Cremation Pyre is that it's open to myriad interpretations; one only need step into its lava. PHENOCRYST prove, once again, that Only Death is Realer!

Five The Hierophant continues to walk the winding path they’ve chosen for themselves in the beginning; further down towards within, and further out towards new horizons. Refusing to ascribe to a singular style, they blend elements of black/doom, psychedelic, ambient, experimental and jazz into one syncretic trip. “Apeiron” is a hypnotic, hallucinatory experience with heavy emphasis on the dark atmosphere, cinematic dreamscapes, and repetitive ritualistic trance-inducing sounds. The production, without a doubt, is a step up from the previous installment, “Through Aureate Void”. The band keeps expanding the use of atypical instruments, such as: horns, trumpets, gongs, bells, violins, skull shakers, ritual drums and other tools, which help to capture the haunting spirit of the music.
Commented by Five The Hierophant: “After a few years of wait, and a lineup change, we are happy to present you our new album. We feel like it’s a very Five The Hierophant album, set within the specific sound we managed to forge, but with a fair bit of new ideas, twists and turns. In our opinion its more trippy and hypnotic, but less monotonous than the previous work. Once again, this is an all instrumental work, without any samples or spoken word this time. The album is called «Apeiron», meaning boundless in Greek, which reflects the atmosphere of the record very well.”
“Apeiron” was recorded and mixed between summer and autumn 2023. It was engineered and mixed by Sam Thredder at Cro's Nest in south London. Haldor Grungerg performed the mastering of the album at Satanic Audio (Azarath, Behemoth). The front cover contains a painting by Odd Nerdrum, used with kind permission.

Finnish heavyweight Death Metal quintet Ashen Tomb is now finally unleashing their debut album "Ecstatic Death Reign", a relentless brutality onslaught stepping up their previous efforts! The reign of death is upon us!

Bitch Hunter with his bass guitar that butchers us with the spacing of a fearless drums, while we are shot with the bass of Jonathan Hellthrasher Maniac who is also responsible for the blasphemous vomits and a whole explovive concept in constant destructive chaos for a total extermination.

The Brazilian band Thrashera released the complete show "AO VIVO EM HELLCIFE" on their YouTube channel.
The DVD features the band's performance that took place on August 5, 2023 at Darkside Studio in Recife, Pernambuco, as well as testimonials from people directly and indirectly involved in the Bastardos da Noite Nordeste Tour 2023 dates, and bonuses with fragments of presentations, backstage and band dayoffs during the tour.
