From the abysmal depths of North America emerges Hessian, a band from Atlanta, Georgia that was founded in 2002 under the name Madame Durant, later called Utuk Xul Commands Worship and renamed in 2016 with the name Hessian that prevails to this day.

The raw and profane melodies that Hessian presents to us in the blasphemous rituals exposed in his discography transport us to a misanthropic cult full of sonic hatred where we can be swallowed by nefarious liturgical abominations where the morbid sonic tumults are eminent in this overwhelming walk through the horrendous underworld and where Hessian invokes all the bestial demons of darkness.

With this interview we will also talk a little more about the pact that Murder Records established with Southern Soundclash Records to release the next work in physical format of the Hessian horde, which will be announced soon and the partnership sealed with the filthy blood to open a North American Devision of Murder Records and where their releases will be exposed so that the evil creatures of the Underground can acquire them through Southern Soundclash Records.

We will also present with this interview the new video clip of Hessian entitled "Sorcerer Of Pain" where the apocalyptic chaos assumes a sound conjuration suitably moldy with odors of rotten sulfur and where will be revealed the supreme absolute desecration of the divine entities that Murder Records and Southern Soundclash Records are preparing to be announced soon.

Let's now go to the interview I had the honor and opportunity to do with Laremy Wade, founding member of Hessian and owner of Southern Soundclash Records, who will talk to us about his projects and reveal a little more about his activities in the underworld of darkness. Enjoy and Die...

ETERNAL HAILS TO ALL THE DEMONS FROM THE MORBID KULT OF DARKNESS...

C.N. - HELL-o brother Laremy Wade, first of all I would like to welcome you to the wicked underworld of Murder Records and it is an honor to be able to conduct this interview with you so that you can tell us a little more about your projects. To begin I would like to talk about Hessian, a band that started in 2002 under the name Madame Durant and that went on to be called Utuk Xul Commands Worship between 2003 and 2016, being renamed with the current name Hessian. I would like to ask you to start this interview by introducing us to Hessian and tell us the reason for so many name changes?
LAREMY WADE - "The embodiment that we now know as "Hessian" has always been guided by ancient force. When they call, I answer. Timless, formless, unseen force. Even to be able to play guitar has been a miracle of these forces as I had no teacher and still only play by ear to this day, knowing no guitar theory... Before I began to create these dark forms, I was sworn into the dark arts since 16. I am 44 now and the evolution of this calling you can see from Hessian's beginning in 2002 (which was also when I started what would be a global occult order known as the Lodge of Tiamat) with the name Madame Durant as an homage at the time to my work in french necromancy in 2002, finding 2 other left handed musicians (Nathan Gombert/guitar, Adam Dickerson/drums) who were aligned with the left hand path to complete the formula that would start the ritual. I received the calling to compose the parts for each of the 3 instruments for the "Utuk Xul Commands Worship" demo as these chaotic forms began to load in my mind. By the time we had a rehearsal demo recorded, the calling urged to take on the name of the demo and became Utuk Xul Command Worship. For varied reasons, mainly as the ritual had been complete, Nathan would continue to other things and Adam would start a family with his girl at the time who was pregnant. I would be called to create Avant Garde and Experimental Music at the time for the next 10 years. In about 2014, I would be urged by the calling back to rock and would be in about 7 bands, most of which at the same time. In 2016, the calling would urge again to start the rituals and I would get with "Hector the Bone Collector" to create the "Maxxout Demo Sessions" and change the name to conceal the ones who call to just the one that answers.... Hessian!!! Drums, guitar, no bass, and evenutally various vocals."

C.N. - Over the years, the band's line-up has remained practically intact and unchanged, which shows that Hessian's line-up is very cohesive and stable. Would you like to introduce us to the remaining members of the band?
LAREMY WADE - "Currently, Hessian is a collective and has members that fade in and out of the ritual of the calling. Adam, the drummer from the original demo is still in the Hessian Kult while he had other projects, one that comes to mind is Krypt who put on their final show last week. A great black thrash band from Augusta, Georgia USA that will be remembered. Now, he will return to the ritual of the Hessian Kult!!!! Nyvrosk (Brandon Floyd) has been a great member since his entry in November 2024, starting with vocals on "Veil of Night" single, to doing vocals over the Utuk Xul Commands Worship demo which created the "Mist over shallow graves" demo, vocalist and recording engineer on the self titled e.p., second logo design/artwork for 6 collective albums/singles (50+designs on merchandise out of over 100+ clothing designs), created a Hessian experimental DSBM album (Fire of the Faceless Seer) in which he plays all instruments (vocals, guitar, bass, drums) and produced with the exception of 2 songs that I created and played guitar parts (Blazing Sigils and Sorcerer of Pain) for and one where I do the solo (Astral Hellscape), and the e.p. "Apparitions of the blood moon ascension" Nyvrosk is vocals/drum/recording engineer. He is now birthed as a one man DSBM ritual that will released in physical copies on a few labels soon. Very great style of gazing black noise with a good variation in musical influence. Also, there is Eric Porter who has been the graphic designer for not only the original hessian logos and other album covers, but is the drummer on some of the most raw kult e.p.'s more recently of Hessian which are the live recorded "Awakened Horde of Saturnalia" and the "Howling in Dies Lunae live E.P.". I have also previously played with him for the last 10 years within the street punk scene as well. As for now, these are the fixed members, along Imperius Noctum on drums who is heard on most tracks, but I arrange/compose concept for drumming with him such as the Hessian self-titled e.p., sworn to the kult e.p., catacombs enshrined e.p., etc... Wherever it says that I have done drum arrangements, it is with Imperious Noctum who actually plays and records on drums what is called into my mind."

C.N. - In 2003, still under the name Utuk Xul Commands Worship, you released your first demo called "Demo 2003", which features a sound pact divided into three parts where we can hear your Primitive Black Metal aspects, which continue to this day. Would you like to talk a little more about this demo?
LAREMY WADE - "Yes, much of this ritual for the time was influenced by classical composers such as Modest Mussorgsky, groups like godflesh, Discordance Axis, Hate Forest, and Ulver's Nattens Madrigal. The invocation gave me these as clues to how to prepare the ritual, and there would be no bass guitar, just high end guitars and drums in a most primitive/bestial fashion. I would carry this demo with me for many years to see if a vocalist would emerge. Many answered but none would manage to commit to the ritual until November of 2024 when Nyvrosk would rise to the ritual, doing vocals over the demo and drawing the calling to awaken again. The self-titled e.p. would follow."

C.N. - After a break of thirteen years, you are back to recording a new demo, this time entitled "Maxxout Demo Session #1...", which will be released under the name Hessian. Could you tell us a little more about this demo and why you only recorded one song?
LAREMY WADE - "This was actually a two song session that will be released, but only one song is featured on the bandcamp to save for the physical release. A very significant session as it would be the ritual to give the final name of the form and seal the raw, chaotic, unpredictable sound that is Hessian. With Hector the Bone Collector on Drums tearing away at all that is music and me with the fire of possession in the most dangerous area of the most dangerous side of town in the recording studio of a certified and criminally insane street thug. The recording would reflect the fire of the wild aspect of the calling for the moment, but it would keep spreading."

C.N. - In 2018, the single entitled "Sons Of Southern Darkness" was released, where the chaos of your sound continues to be very clear. What do you want to tell us about this release?
LAREMY WADE - " Yes, this ritual was invoked at Ember City Rehearsal Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Home of Masatdon's recording/rehearsal studio and Terminus Hate City Records band rehearsal room in this location. This would be recorded with North Carolina Death Metal Band Nemesis Drummer (Viken) in the Terminus Rehearsal Room by a young lady I would have one of the most insane flings with. These usually make the best artist and that was the case here...lol. To make something clear, there are many tracks that are improvised and guided by the primitive force without practice or question such as Maxxout, Southern Darkness, Veil of Night, and the two live E.P.'s that feature Eric Porter on Drums which is some of the work more directly focused on ritual execution."

C.N. - Another period of silence lasted for six years and in 2024 three more singles were released, two of them instrumentals entitled "Veil Of Night (Live Instrumental)...", "Black Magic Hunger... (Live Instrumental)..." and the single "Veil of Night" which already presents itself with blasphemous proclamations. I would like to ask you to tell us a little more about these works and reveal to us the reason why two of them are instrumental?
LAREMY WADE - "They are instrumental to keep in the original spirit of Hessian which was as Madame Durant, not having a vocalist. These two tracks would also be the initial invocation before Nyvrosk would hear the sounds of the ritual call to answer joining vocals on the veil of night track, which was improvisational guitar track invoked by ritual possession, then to do vocals for the Mist Over Shallow Grave demo. In the discography, you will always see instrumental tracks and albums, they have called that we must always do so it shall be done. These two tracks would also lead to the creation of the self-titled album that will be released in June sometime on CD by Womhole Death Records in Italy. The styles on those two tracks represent an ode to certain cults of heavy metal and blasphemy like metal. This would be recorded live in the Southern Soundclash Records House in the room of Eric Porter with the drums by Imperius Noctum"

C.N. - We have reached 2025, the year in which Hessian is most active in his activities to vomit releases with more intensity and where we can find a demo entitled "Mist over Shallow Graves", ten singles, two compilations, five EPs, two live albums and an EP entitled "Fire Of the Faceless Seer". Do you want to reveal a little more about this infernal avalanche that your discography suffered after many years of silence?
LAREMY WADE - "After the self titled e.p. and Mist over shallow graves had been completed, the fire inside had grown wildly so this force was calling and I must answer without hesitation. It has grown again. I answer the call to ritual obediance without question and will execute at the time given."

C.N. - I would like to talk a little more about Hessian's debut EP, called "Fire Of The Faceless Seer", which will be released in physical format soon by Murder Records in partnership with Southern Soundclash Records. I know that everything is still being properly conjured up for this release, which will include some extras so that the perverse entities of the underworld can dive into the chaotic abysses of Hessian. What can you reveal or tell us about what is being prepared and that will be duly announced soon?
LAREMY WADE - "I like to call this particular EP that is the length of an album, "The Rebirth of Nyvrosk", as Nyvrosk had created these songs then performed all instruments on most of the tracks except for the few I listed in previous questions. A preview of what would be more into expanding what the kult could do and not limiting what had been called for him at the time. It is the prelude that I aid in removing the stone in front of the cave to reveal Nyvrosk. Of course the songs "Blazing Sigils" and "Sorcerer Of Pain" are the reminder and the Hessian vein in that E.P."

C.N. - Hessian presents a raw sound with wild and primitive riffs that embrace darker and more chaotic aspects. How would you define Hessian's sound? And what are your main musical influences?
LAREMY WADE - "Being a legitimate Voudun High Priest, I am sworn to the primitive ancestral cult. They had called and I answered before I had ever tried to play the guitar. I had opened the "little book" and it looked at me to say, "go get a guitar, I will do the rest." So I did and it does. Hessian guitar is pure ancestral cult guitar by the possessed dark artist, recorded with no guitar edits/cuts, live from beginning to end of track, improvised on the length and type of playing based on the one that is calling me to execute. I was never a musician and most of them have varied opinions, yet do no rituals, having no eyes to see the purity of obedience to ancient force. A dark Artist and Priest are a different form than musicians, even though musicians are the celebrants whether aware or not. This is and was not created to please musicians, though they are welcomed to join and embrace the ritual. If we talk of Dark Arts, I would say an influence ritual style of Ulver, SarcoFago, Mutilator, Parabellum, Blasphemy, Mystifier, Hate Forest, Angel Corpse, Morbid Angel, Conqueror, Revenge, Black Witchery, Morbosidad, Immortal, Tormentor, Venom, Possessed. Mostly Ancient stuff is where the calling draws me."

C.N. - Two official videos from Hessian were recently released and this interview will be followed by another video that confirms Hessian's entry into the Murder Records musical graveyard. Would you like to talk a little more about this pact and describe what you think of the work that has been done so far? What was the reason that led you to contact and choose this filthy label from the musical underworld to work with you?
LAREMY WADE - "Hessian is honored as I was called and came across a release from Murder Records with the mighty BLASFEMATOR and a single from their recent split called "Diabolik Incarnation". Immediately, you can hear those that answer the call. As I walked further into the cemetary, I could see the fire burning, so I came with my offerings which were accepted. Infernal pact. The owner of this label also being one of the truly possessed, there is no hesitation and the work inhuman in the small span of time bearing three videos, new North American Division, and New North American Distribution, along with the offerings that are in preparation for the true. Murder Records is the true, unstoppable undergound, hidden powers of the unknown. Beyond music as more than metal is there. The raw forms birthed into this world."

C.N. - Murder Records recently signed a pact with your label Southern Soundclash Records, which will be the official representative of the North American opening of the channel, where the underworld demons on that side of the planet will be able to find Murder Records releases. What can you tell us about this partnership and how did this opportunity come about?
LAREMY WADE - "This primal union was called and I answered by extending the offering into our underground domain as now the calling would be also to redistribute the offerings of the true celebrants from the world, starting with Murder Records to take the torch and light the flame so that the invocation may begin, sending offerings all of pure dark to our domain so that they may be distrbuted through our tunnels. Not only will it be distribution, but also now North American Division Office so that more of those that are true to this will be embraced in Darkness here."

C.N. - Southern Soundclash Records is a devoted label and extremely dedicated to supporting the true Underground, I would like to ask you to introduce us to your work and tell us what the label's goals and plans are for the future of Southern Soundclash Records?
LAREMY WADE - "The label started in 2014 so that we could release the undergound music that represented the real people in underground movements, so on this label, it is not just metal, but punk, experimental, and power electronics. All in the purest underground energy. You know it when you feel it. Words cannot explain this. As of recent times, we have been called to raise the banner of darks arts as the head and antidote for these current times in the world. We have answered the call without question, so we have begin to recruit new groups who represent this path without question. We know when we hear it, so we continue in this direction until the world explodes."

C.N. - Nowadays, the true Underground is something that has almost disappeared and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find people who remain active and faithful to the pure essence of what the Underground is. What is your opinion about the modern Underground that presents itself as a kind of marketing for people looking for status? For you, is the true spirit of the Underground a lifestyle that few can maintain these days or just a shithole full of posers and shitty capitalists? What do you have to say about this?
LAREMY WADE - "Yes, definitely understand where you are coming from. The antidote to these silly people is that the real ones will know right away and the rulebook that the posers are reading from online is doing it's job of keeping them in their own realm and away from the true kult. If you are chasing a way to be rich or some social status with this, it will show to the old true ones that have been for ageless times and the door will not open. At best, they will only be able to hear the afterthought of the calling if they buy physical copy. There is nothing else here for them. They will not last and drift away where it is safe and easy. This is the ultimate road less traveled."

C.N. - Now returning to Hessian, I would like to ask if you play live and if so, could you describe it to us and tell us what we can expect from your performance on stage?
LAREMY WADE - "Hessian has never played live in over 22 years and if so, it will be seldom. There may be one partiuclar ritual in the future with members of Hungarian ZBMK circle members Gomold and new invocation of Crotalos on vocals with me and Imperius Noctum on instruments. After these rituals bear their offerings, we will commence to plan a possible tour where Hessian may play in either Hungary or United States. We will not reveal the stage presence before that".

C.N. - I would also like to ask what topics are covered in your lyrics and what message do you intend to convey?
LAREMY WADE - "In many of the songs featuring Nyvrosk, the vocals/lyrics are invoked and some may not even be actual words as if speaking in tounges. The other vocals that guest on various tracks are from other ritualists and the titles/lyrics of these tracks will always reflect that. Total ritual. Total kult."

C.N. - Before finishing this interview, I would like to ask you to tell us what Hessian’s goals are for the future?
LAREMY WADE - "The goal for Hessian is to answer the call, no matter where it may lead us. We answer and execute without hesitation. Ancestral cult obediance. Laws of man are finite."

C.N. - We have reached the end of this interview and for that reason I would like to thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and for allowing us to penetrate the Hessian underworld. Now I want to leave this space open so that you can vomit your last words of infernal hatred, thank you or simply tell whoever you want to fuck off...
LAREMY WADE - "Hessian is a curse that will tear to bits those who are not true to themselves, only becoming beasts of burden to ancient rites. We thank the whole sacrificers like yourself Danhell who will never stop and beyond reason, Edu of Guts and Blood/Rotten Records (Peru), and Carlo Bellotti of Wormhole Death and original vocalist of the kult band, Necromass. Also to everyone that answers the call such as Hessian, whether you are in bands or buy physical copies from us or other cults."
