The release of this split CD is dedicated to the twenty-fifth anniversary of GRIMNESS and GRIM TYRANT. It’s a furious piece of blackness back from the 90s featuring Morbid (Mørketsvind, Storhet av Morke, Forever Dead, Black Shadow). GRIMNESS plays juggernautic and primitive black metal with its roots goings deeper than any basement, down to the deepest shafts of fear and catacombs of hatred. Converted to digital from the original tapes, the material of the band was released as a large compilation without any restoration. 15 tracks cover the most active period of GRIMNESS between 1999 and 2001, with Morbid and Vampire at the helm. GRIM TYRANT was active during the same time period, with the line-up consisting of Morbid and Alex W. Its raw and gloomy Dark Metal is richly seasoned with keys and dark mystic atmosphere — they say the record even captures the voice of a demon. This rarest recording found in the audiotape archive is a striking example of the counterculture of the late 90s of the past century. Get introduced to the pure underground!
